Columbus Cottonmouths vs. Knoxville Ice Bears
Cottonmouths won 7-2.
On the way up to NC on Friday we made a detour to go to Helen, GA. The town is made to look like a German town and is a fairly big tourist attraction down here. They have a small river/big creek (not sure which, but apparently it’s low this time of year) that people tube down in the summer. Right now, from sometime in September to sometime in November, it is Oktoberfest (hence the sign). This was taken at about 1 in the afternoon so there weren’t a lot of people out but I hear it gets pretty crowded at night.
Of course the best part of Helen/Oktoberfest is the beer. I tried my first Hefeweizen (brewed by Erdinger) at a place called Troll Tavern (right next to a bridge and on the water) and loved it. I wonder if I can find it here in town.
And then there is North Carolina. I really had fun there. James‘
girlfriend Brooke has a good bit of land on a mountain up there that
has been in her family for generations. We spent the days riding 4
wheelers, shooting off rounds, and just hanging out. At night we built
a campfire and hung out drinking beer and enjoying the solitude. Good
times, good times.
